Dispute resolution process
Unipec U.K. Co. Ltd (“UUK”) has an in-house legal department and employees will pass any details of actual or potential disputes to the department which is on hand to assist with the resolution of all such disputes.
The legal department, with the assistance of the relevant business contact, will first seek to resolve the dispute through commercial negotiation within one week. Where the supplier remains dissatisfied with the solutions proposed it will be open to them to commence legal proceedings against UUK and a decision will then be taken in concert with management as to ultimately dispute the requested payment or pay in full. Legal advice may be taken by the in-house team depending on, for example, whether proceedings are commenced in the U.K. or in a foreign jurisdiction.
