Standard payment terms

The business enters into two types of contracts. First is on behalf of the firm and it includes all costs relating to the running of the business. The second is on behalf of the client, where the costs are then recharged to the client as disbursements.

In relation to the firm's costs, the business' standard payment terms are 30 days from the invoice date. If an invoice is disputed, the head of the department will take steps to resolve the issue before the invoice is sent out for payment. In many cases this means that the standard terms are exceeded.

Disbursements are usually paid once the money is received from the client. For conditional fee agreement cases this is agreed with the supplier that the payment is due once the money is received from the client and the case concludes.
